Warriors Cry was carved by Richard “Jake” Gravelle. Born in 1953 and raised in Lake Cowichan, Jake’s family ancestry is Cowichan First Nations and Haida. He has always enjoyed drawing and carving and began carving in the late 90’s after taking classes from Squamish First Nations carvers.  Tradition says your first piece of art should be given away and  Jake felt he never really found the right person to give it to until he met Kare and heard her story and her plans to travel to Australia for surgery.  He has made this generous offer to donate his first work to Kare’s online auction.

Measurements:  15″ tall, 12″ wide and 7″ deep
